SUSPEND explores the fleeting moment during a runner’s stride when both feet leave the ground.
Inspired by a passing thought while showering, the film exaggerates this split-second state into a visual experience, stretching a fraction of a second into a space between propulsion and landing.
Shot over a single evening at a neighbourhood stadium, the project was developed with an intentionally loose process. Rather than working from a detailed shot list, the film evolved through experimentation, responding to available light, movement, and the physical rhythm of running.
The visual approach combines distorted perspectives, slow motion, and fragmented motion studies to create a sense of weightlessness, while the sound design amplifies the feeling of suspension beyond what is physically possible.
Created as a personal exploration of instinct-led filmmaking, the project reflects an approach that values experimentation, trust, and discovery over rigid planning.
